EFER European Entrepreneurship Colloquium EFER EEC 2011 is co-funded by the European Commission, hosted by Warsaw School of Economics, in a close collaboration with IESE Business School, Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CFEL), University of Cambridge, and Europe Unlimited. It took place on 17-23 July 2011 in Warsaw, Poland. More than 20 contributors facilitated the programme including Derek Abell (Founder of ESMT), Jolanta Mazur and Piotr Ploszajski from Warsaw School of Economics, Julia Prats from IESE, Andy Goldstein (LMU Entrepreneurship Center), Franklin Pitcher ("Pitch") Johnson from Stanford University, Mukti Khaire from Harvard Business School, Walter Kuemmerle (Professor and Author of Case Studies in International Entrepreneurship). The event also hosted EFER Entrepreneurs Day, which brought together the New European Champions - accomplished international entrepreneurs from Central and Eastern Europe.

EFER European Entrepreneurship Colloquium EFER EEC 2010 is co-funded by the European Commission, hosted by IESE Business School, in a close collaboration with Warsaw School of Economics, Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CFEL), University of Cambridge, and Europe Unlimited. It took place from 11th to 17th July 2010 at IESE, Barcelona. More than 30 contributors facilitated the programme including Pedro Nueno, Julia Prats, Juan Roure from IESE, Franklin Pitcher ("Pitch") Johnson and Tom Byers from Stanford University, Mike Roberts, Harvard Business School, Walter Kuemmerle, Professor and Author of Case Studies in International Entrepreneurship, Shai Vyakarnam, University of Cambridge. The visit to innovation centre and entrepreneurial businesses was hosted by ESADE Creapolis www.EsadeCreapolis.com in Barcelona.

2009

 

 

EFER European Entrepreneurship Colloquium is co-funded by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and EFER, hosted by Maastricht University, in collaboration with, RWTH Aachen University and KU Leuven, It took place from 19th to 25th July 2009 at Vaeshartelt Castle Maastricht. The programme’s  key facilitators include Mike Roberts, Harvard Business School, Walter Kuemmerle, Professor and Author of Case Studies in International Entrepreneurship, Julia Prats, IESE, Shai Vyakarnam, University of Cambridge, Tea Petrin, University of Ljubljana and Jan Cobbenhagen and Wynand Bodewes, Maastricht University. Two visits to Science Park, innovation centres and entrepreneurial businesses, were hosted by RWTH Aachen, and KU Leuven, to provide the insights into how they can integrate entrepreneurs and practitioners from their country/region into their classes. These two day visits were led by Malte Brettel, RWTH Aachen, and Martin Hinoul, KU Leuven, and facilitated by Tom Byers, Stanford University.

European Entrepreneurship Colloquium for Participant-Centered Learning (EECPCL) held at Harvard Business School The European Entrepreneurship Colloquium on Participant-Centered Learning (EECPCL) is an 8-day intensive programme designed by Harvard Business School faculty to meet the changing needs of teachers of management- and entrepreneurship-related topics in Europe. The programme is intended to provide a forum for the HBS faculty and leading entrepreneurship faculty from Europe to learn from each other and to build relationships and networks that can lead to joint projects and research. HBS launched this faculty development programme in 2005. The first programme was attended by professors, including several deans, from a mix of business schools and technical universities from across 20 European countries. The EECPCL programme has been made possible through the generous support of Bert Twaalfhoven and the help of EFER.

Six Network Round Table Meetings
Frankfurt, Oslo, Barcelona, Aachen, Ljublijana and Gent
To further learning and network building, EFER has held two faculty network meetings per year for the group of professors who have attended past training programmes. Entrepreneurs and other practitioners are often invited to participate

Developing Entrepreneurs
held at University of Cambridge, U.K.
A joint teaching seminar of the best practice in teaching entrepreneurship, run by Howard Stevenson of the Harvard Business School with the University of Cambridge. The programme included teaching faculty from IESE and LBS as well as experienced entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.

Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship in Central and East Europe
held at the Warsaw University of Technology, School of Business
An EVCA conference was organized at the same time in cooperation with EFER:
"Venturing in Central & Eastern Europe". The meetings served to further strengthen the network and to launch several new projects.

Doing Business in the West, Doing Business in the East
held at Nijenrode University, Breukelen, The Netherlands
EFER offered a variety of topics and programmes in the form of plenary sessions, workshops, company visits, networking, structured discussions and entrepreneurial success stories. A total number of 125 participants attended the Meeting (out of which 34 members of the academic network and 27 dynamic entrepreneurs of the 17 Central and East European countries). They benefited of the active participation of world-class experts in the field of entrepreneurship who helped to design the programme and volunteered their services as lecturers and workshop leaders.

Action with Dynamic Entrepreneurs from Central and Eastern Europe
held at International Management Center (IMC) in Budapest, Hungary
The meeting in Budapest continued the previous meeting’s mission of bringing together the academic and the business worlds of entrepreneurship to develop teaching skills and an understanding of the needs of entrepreneurs in financing fast growing companies.

Dynamic Entrepreneurs in Central and Eastern Europe
held at INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau, France
This meeting marked the first exchange between professors of entrepreneurship and "real world" entrepreneurs. The two groups were brought together to share their experiences and ideas on entrepreneurship focusing on more practical implementations of entrepreneurship.

Teaching Entrepreneurship in Central and Eastern Europe
held at Stirin Castle in Prague, Czech Republic
This meeting established the EFER core network of professors and experts in the field of entrepreneurship; this core group was thereafter referred to as the "Stirin Group". The core network was the basis for networking through Centers of Entrepreneurship. The meeting focused on teaching and training academia.
